Began with Col. Mike
Mike’s love of being an Auctioneer and Estate Sales
started when he was young growing up in Maryland, where Estate and Consignment
Auctions are held nearly every day of the week.
Having a few family friends that
were Auctioneers for Estates and Cattle Sales, kept Mike constantly in touch and
intrigued with the “fast talking and fast paced” Auctioneer lifestyle.
In 1981
Mike started his own Construction company, “CNM Contractors” Where he began
designing and building custom stick built, and post & beam homes. Mike’s vast
knowledge of home construction, and Commercial building trades, gives him the
ability to better explain and sell the features of the Homes his clients were
Investing in.
In the 90’s Mike began a career in Sales soon becoming the Sales
Manager of Sheehy Ford.
Sheehy Ford is still one of the largest auto dealerships
in MD. This is where Mike learned his love of selling and helping people, but most
importantly the art of listening in order to learn his Client’s needs.
Just for
kicks, Mike created a TV show “Hookin’ to Cookin’ with Captain Mike”.
The show
aired for 5 years with the format of Mike “The Captain” fishing anywhere and
everywhere on the East Cost of the United States, from Canada to the Florida
Keys, catching and then cooking up the fresh catch of the day.
This is what
instilled in Mike, the love of the Florida Keys and the desire to move to and
enjoy the Keys lifestyle.
Several years ago, Mike and his Wife Suzy completed
their goal of permanently moving to the Florida Keys.
They started their
Real Estate Sales Career's and one of the most successful Vacation Rental
Management Companies in The Florida Keys.
A few Years ago Mike was asked and
graciously accepted to be the Auctioneer for a local club, raising money for
Breast Cancer.
This rekindled his love for live auctions. Merging his past
skills of Business Ownership, Sales Management, and adding his passion for
Auctions, Mike began to see the light.
“I could live in paradise and help others
by conducting Live Auctions”
Thus was born – Auction In The Keys and Florida
Keys Estate Sales.
Mike is a Graduate of Florida Auctioneer Academy and holds
